Scripture: Leviticus 25; Luke 4:18-21 (NIV)

Sabbath Rhythms in Leviticus

The Sabbath Day --> A 7th day of rest

The Sabbath Year --> A 7th year of rest for the land after 6 years of cultivation

The Jubilee Year --> After 49 years, a 50th year of even greater rest, renewal, and reset.

  
   
   

The Jubilee Year

-      All land returns to original family ownership

-      The land lies fallow (unplanted)

-      Release of all Israelite slaves

-      Cancellation of Debts

  2. A Kingdom economy is not bound by human limitations
  3. Jesus is our Jubilee

  • Where might you be elevating your plan and assessment above God’s?
  • Why do we live and talk as owners of what we possess, when Scripture describes us as stewards?
  • How does your bank account and calendar reflect your priorities? Are you spending and scheduling from a place of scarcity or with a kingdom-steward’s perspective?
  •  Assess your heart: Who are you imaging, yourself or God?
