Beloved,

It was 19 years ago on the second Sunday of September (September 8, 2002) Tabernacle Community Church was born. Kizombo, Marvin and I had no idea the great adventure that God would have in store for us. He would bless us with the responsibility to lead and shepherd a multi-ethnic community of Jesus followers in the greater Grand Rapids area.  Even today, we are continuing to learn how to live into that call and to own the responsibility it brings in the Kingdom.  It’s not enough to simply to acknowledge God’s gift of diversity, but He calls us to share that gift with the world. It’s a beautiful picture of God himself, who is the essence of unity in diversity.

As we continue to grow in our love for God and for one another, may we continue to flourish in our understanding of who God has called us to be in this community.

In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding, he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment-to bring unity to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ. Ephesians 1:7-10
