What is Faith, Works, and Economics?

At Tabernacle Community Church, we believe Sunday mornings at church should only be a small part of how you live out your faith. We desire people to bring their faith into their work and seek out the flourishing of all mankind. Jeremiah 29:7 tells the Israelites to "seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

At TCC we have a similar heart for our people and the city of Grand Rapids. We desire for our people to be employed in meaningful ways, to carry out their work in an ethical manner, and to continue to be the tsaddiqim as we disadvantage ourselves for the advantage of others.

There are a variety of ways this works out in our faith community. It can look like using your gifting to serve the church in unique ways or taking part in the Ergasia project to better understand yourself and what work you may find fulfilling. Maybe it is partnering with our non-profit, the Grand Rapids Nehemiah Project. There are a variety of ways faith, works, and economics can play out in your life and at Tabernacle and we encourage you to explore a few of them below.
